Well, the C^3 Team and I are back from a whirlwind weekend at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2012. Held in the Los Angeles Convention Center and only in it’s 2nd year, Comikaze Expo is a comic/pop culture megacon featuring tons of guests, exhibitors and cosplayers. Our convention coverage video will be out later this week, but I wanted to post a few snapshots from the convention here.

On Saturday, Angi Viper and I cosplayed as Rogue and Dark Phoenix from X-Men.
It was very difficult for us to get any interviews or filming done on Saturday because of all of the photographers and photoshoots. We were there all day, but probably only walked about 10% of the convention floor. We also had a badass photoshoot with photographer extraordinaire Alex Rothauser. Here’s an image:
Sunday saw us back in our X-Men costumes for a fun group photoshoot with Eurobeat Kasumi, a photographer I have admired since I first started looking at cosplay pics online. It was really great to pose with so many wonderful cosplayers! Here are some snapshots Shawn took of the shoot:
After the shoot, Angi changed into Amalthea (from The Last Unicorn) and I discovered that I had forgotten my Elektra wig at home. SO I ran over to the EpicCosplay booth and picked up a new wig. I purchased the white and brown wigs I used for Rogue from EpicCosplay, and I have to say I will exclusively use them for wigs from now on. They offer amazing quality wigs at great prices AND are super nice people!
Sunday was a little less busy, so Angi and I got to interview several great cosplayers, including Traci Hines. We also met The Last Unicorn creator Peter S. Beagle and Connor Cochran, his business manager. They complimented by Elektra costume and said that I could ‘pull it off’ which gave me a bit of a fangirl heart attack. At the end of the day, nearing exhaustion breakdown point, I had Kat Sheridan come up and ask for a picture. She’s super nice and I really hope to see her again at a con! Anywho, a few more snapshots:
This weekend was crazy and I’m still super tired from it ~~ it’s hard to believe, but I get to do it ALL OVER AGAIN next weekend for ThunderCon/PowerCon! As always, if you’re in the LA area and go to PowerCon, keep an eye out for me and come say hi!
That’s all for now! XOXO

Thank you! Kusanagi has been on my cosplay dream list since high school, but it’s going to be a while before I have the time/skill to do the version of her that I want =/
