Inspiration

I really love the artwork and design in Dynamite Comics’ short ‘Athena’ series. It’s a re-imagining of the goddess, this time reborn into the modern world. Her armor, to me, is absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to do some armor-based costumes for SDCC 2013, and I thought Athena’s outfit would be perfect! Of course, very few people recognize this obscure character, but I still adore this costume!

Construction

All of the armor was made with Worbla – I talk about the construction of the breastplate in detail HERE. The shield was made by West Wolf Renaissance.
